Ancient Cappadocia - Uncharted Cappadocia.
- Ancient Cappadocia This is the least popular excursion among tourists. Unfortunately, or fortunately, this really fascinating trip is not advertised and therefore not open to tourists. Why luckily? Yes, because, visiting the locations of ancient Cappadocia, you will not see crowds of tourists there and you can enjoy the secluded beauty of these places. Do not be deceived by the fact that ancient Cappadocia is not as popular as other regions, it is not inferior in any way, and in some places even surpasses them. After all, only in ancient Cappadocia you can visit the ancient city of Sobesos and the Greek village of Sanasos.
- Tour schedule:
At about 10:00 in the morning, our Russian-speaking guide, along with our English-speaking driver, will come to pick you up in a comfortable minivan, and your expedition to a completely different Cappadocia will begin.
- From the hotel, after a thorough breakfast and sleep, you will go straight to the hotel.
- Underground city, it will be either the city of Kaymakli or Derinkuyu. Underground cities were built in Cappadocia a thousand years ago as a refuge from natural and human threats. When we say city, we are not exaggerating, or these underground structures are real cities, with their own center, sleeping compartments, sheds, storage, kitchens and even churches. In my opinion, a visit to the underground city is a must for every tourist coming to Cappadocia, because the experience you will experience simply cannot be conveyed by words or writing.
- And then you go to Soğanlı Valley: Where you will visit the thousand-year-old Byzantine temples, which are preserved simply in perfect condition, as much as possible given the time of their construction, where you can see the frescoes of the Byzantine style, which are preserved, strange as it may sound, thanks to the Muslims who, instead of destroying or painting the frescoes, covered them with plaster when they turned these churches into mosques.
- After that, you will continue the tour and go to Sobesos: Ancient city, which was discovered by archaeologists relatively recently in 2002. Here you can see the legendary ancient architecture and the Polonization of the city.
- Then you go to the jewelry workshop. where you will be shown and told about the local jewelry production, surprise color-changing stone endemic to Cappadocia Sultanite and show your famous store, where, if desired, you can buy your favorite product.
- Our last ancient place to visit will be Keşlik Monastery . You can see the rocky monastery complex preserved from the Byzantine period.
- And as they say, "Sweet for last"Your last stop before returning to the hotel will be a candy tasting. There, as they say, you can taste the taste of Cappadocia, try different delicacies, talk to hospitable sellers about sweets, and if you like even buy.
